In Sri Lanka  there are different types of  savoury breads and rolls. This is one of them. I find buying bread in Sri Lanka is very expensive as they import wheat flour. So all the taxes and labour costs add in to it. When you buy a kilo of flour you can make more than 25 buns for a very low cost. When you buy the bun I think you can buy only 2 of them. You can mix whole wheat flour to this (half half) to make in a different way. To get how to make Stir fried onions /seeni Sambal Click here.

My son loved these buns when he was in Sri Lanka. Still he loves them. So I make several batches for him always. When they were little I used to buy them these buns from the bred man who visits from house to house early in the morning.Still it is very common in many parts of Sri Lanka.

Caramelised onions can be done in different ways. This is my method. I like spicy taste than sweet taste. Some like it sweet and others like it in both ways. My grand mother and my mum used to cook in this way. So I am used to do it in this way too.

Making bread is really easy when you have practiced it a bit.I always believe the saying       ” practice makes the man perfect” you can fail once or several times. But do not give up. Once you achieve the way of doing and how to over come the mistakes you can be a genius.
