Matcha is a green tea that is very popular all over the world for its health benefits. When you select Matcha make sure to buy the organic directly from Japan. Matcha powder has a very uncommon green colour . They grow it lots of care and also grown under shade. So it gives this flavour to matcha and colour is unique to this Japanese tea too.
Matcha helps to detoxify the body and calm the self down. Not only that it has lots of antioxidants , boost the metabolism and lowers the cholesterol too.
So I use Matcha for tea and thought of experimenting a cake with matcha to use it in my daily use. This is a nice cake. But I feel that we need whipped cream in middle or need icing or pouring cream for boosting the flavours.
- 250 g Self raising flour
- 35 g Corn Flour
- 100 g Butter
- 65 ml sour cream
- Drop of vanilla
- 1 TSp Matcha Powder
- 1 Tsp Match powder
- 160g Sugar
- Add butter, sugar in to a mixing bowl and whisk well.
- After add vanilla, Matcha powder, sour cream and start whisking again.
- After add flours and mix well. If you find the mixture is dry add some milk or sour cream.
- Put it in a baking Tray (6×6 inch) and bake on 180c about 30-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
