I always cook whole chick peas as a curry. I sometimes use the left overs from the boiled chickpeas as a curry and also I use canned chickpeas too. Chickpeas are high in protein , Once in a while you can replace your meat dish with a vegetarian option like this.
if you are using raw chickpeas for this recipe make sure to soak overnight before boiling. If not it takes a longer time to cook.
Here I am using about 200 g boiled chickpeas. (Its like a can of chick peas) For the spice powders 1/2 tsp chilli powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and a 1/2 tsp curry powder. You can always change the spices according to your taste.
Other than the above 1/2 tsp crushed garlic, or several cloves of garlic, 1/2 of an onion sliced, green chillies, cinnamon, curry leaves and pandan leaves. Add some oil in to a pan and leave the oil to be hot.
Fry the onion and garlic with all the other ingredients in the third picture.
After add the spice powders and fry several seconds .
After add the chickpeas into it and stir fry about one minute. This will coat all the spices with the chickpeas.
Add about a half a cup of thick coconut milk in to it. Stir well.
Cook until the gravy is thick to serve. Serve with rice or breads.
