Dosa/ Black gram Lentil Pancakes.

Black gram lentils are so nutritious. I  heard from an Ayurvedic doctor that its really good for building up worn off cartilages. I really believe in it. Once I something happen  to my knee and a bandaid with a layer of black gram lentils put on my knee for several days and I got cured.

I used 1/2 cup urid dhal (Undu) , 1 table spoon split chick pea, (Kadala Parippu) , 1/4 Tsp fenugreek seeds, 1 cup plain rice with 1 cup parboiled rice (Samba). Soak all together over night.
Add all the ingredients in to the grinder and grind well adding the water you used to soak them.
Blend until it comes to a paste.
Put that in to  a pot .
After 12 hours it will look like this.
Mix it well. Add enough salt. The consistency should a continuous flow.
Put a pan on the stove and add a drop of oil in to the pan.
Use a paper towel or a piece of cloth and wipe well. greasing the pan will ease the pancake from the pan well.
After put a spoon full of the mixture in to the middle.You can lift and turn the pan in a circular motion or spread using the the back of the spoon to form a pancake.
Turn  the stove on high.
When its well cooked it lift from sides like this.
Then turn to the other side and cook until golden brown.
You can roll it or serve as it is. Serve hot.
Serve with coconut chutney or Sambar.
