Make sure to wash them throughly. At least 5-6 times until the water is clear. Use  warm water to wash the sprats. You can soak them for 10-15 minutes before washing to get maximum results.

After washing the sprats it should look like this. This is about 250g dried sprats. If you do not wash them throughly it will give a bad taste.

Slice two potatoes and add in to the sprats.

Add 1/2 of an onion and several fresh chilies. Always its your choice to make it spicy or not.

Add several curry leaves in to it.

Now add a piece of cinnamon in to it.

Crush several cloves of garlic and add to the curry. This gives a nice flavour to any fish curry and gives less fishy smell.

Add about 1/2 tsp curry powder. Don’t add a lot.

Add chilli powder.I added 1/2 tsp only. If you like it a bit spicy add more than what I have added.

Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder.

Add about 11/2 cups of water. If you are making a smaller one than this water is less. Also you can add while cooking too.

Put it in to a pot. Mix well. bring to boil and after cook on a low heat covered about 15 minutes.

While cooking add salt. Check whether its what you like.

Add about 3/4 cup of thick coconut milk. and stir. make sure not to cover after as it can come up and spill out of the pot. Stir once and bring to high heat. Cook until the curry slightly thickens.
