Pani pol is the name for sweetened coconut. The grated coconut is mixed with palm treacle and cardamon powder and then used in different types of sweets. Lavariya, imbul kiribath ,or  Coconut pancakes . Some use pani pol in Helapa too.

Take two cups of desiccated coconut or fresh coconut. I am using desiccated coconut.

Add about 1/2 bottle of treacle. Instead you can add brown sugar.

In to the same add about 1/2 tsp of ground cardamons.

Mix well and put the pot on the stove.

Cook on a low flame stirring once in a while until there is no water.

The final outcome should look like this. You can use this for Imbul kiribath, Lavariya, or pancakes.
