Moong Dhal or split Mung beans are really creamy and nice when cooked as a  curry.  Sometimes its called as split green gram too.  This curry should be very mild.  Make sure to wash throughly before cooking.

This recipe will serve 4-6 people.  Put 1 1/2 cups of  Split Gram dhal in to a bowl. Add several cups of water in to it. Wash several times and leave to soak several minutes or hours or even over night. Soaking make it easy to cook.

Cut several cloves of garlic, one onion. Split several green chillies and wash some curry leaves. I used 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp chillie powder, & 1 tsp curry powder.

 

Add one cup of water to the lentils and next add spices and herbs. Mix well and put on the stove bring to boil and reduce the heat and cook until slightly tender.

After add one cup of thick coconut milk  and some salt to your taste and cook about one minute  or two. 

It shouldn’t be dry . Has to have a little bit of gravy . Serve hot with rice.
