Sago always cooked as a drink than a dessert in Sri Lanka. When its cooked with treacle or jaggery the best. But can cook with brown sugar too. Add freshly squeezed coconut milk for the best taste.
This is about 100 g sago. This will serve 4 people. Wash the sago for several times well and put in to a pot.
Add water to cover. And add enough salt to the taste.
Make sure to have all these ready next to you when you do this as sago cooks quickly. I used one cup freshly squeezed coconut milk with a cup of treacle and 1/4 cup of brown sugar as I haven’t had jaggery.
Put the pot on the stove and start cooking. Make sure to stir well.
Pour the honey and add the sugar in to the sago . Mix well.
Stir well and bring to boil and serve hot or cold with extra jaggery. 🙂
